The upcoming gubernatorial and state assembly elections in different states of Nigeria have drawn diverse reactions from political players, with varying predictions regarding the expected outcomes.
In Benue, the PDP is battling to reconcile its members following a controversial primary election that saw members defecting to other political parties.
The party chieftains have urged their members to bury their differences and work collectively for their victory at the polls.
On the contrary, the APC has accused the PDP of planning to deploy unconventional tactics during the elections.
Similarly, in Oyo State, APC chieftains have rejected any working arrangement with Governor Seyi Makinde ahead of the polls.
They have affirmed their support for their governorship candidate, Teslim Folarin while Marking it clear that they will be focusing on him alone come next Saturday.
Meanwhile, in Enugu and Abia states, the fate of governorship hopefuls is uncertain as fear looms over a possible repeat of what happened during last year’s presidential and National Assembly elections where PDP candidates lost to Labour Party candidates resulting in an upset within the ruling party.
Also, some PDP members are allegedly not supportive of some Governorship candidates due to lack of faith in their ability to deliver good governance and uphold the principles of equity and justice which led to internal conflicts within those States’ chapters of PDP.
