In a statement to People magazine, Biden expressed his desire for the well-being of all his grandchildren, including Navy.
The president’s son, Hunter Biden, fathered Navy in August 2018 with Lunden Roberts, whom he met at a Washington, DC strip club.
After a legal battle, Hunter agreed to provide child support, paintings, and a college fund for Navy.
President Biden emphasized that the situation is a family matter and not a political issue.
Previously, Biden had publicly mentioned his six grandchildren but had not acknowledged Navy.
Critics have criticized his dismissal of Navy as “cruel” and contradictory to his family-oriented image.
It remains uncertain if the Bidens will visit Navy and Roberts, who currently reside in Arkansas.
The White House has not commented on the matter.
