Former governor Nasir El-Rufai was noticeably absent from his son Bello’s wedding to his second wife, Aisha Habibu Shuaibu.
It was reported that El-Rufai had traveled out of the country while waiting for his confirmation as a minister under President Bola Tinubu’s administration.
The former governor had met with President Tinubu before flying abroad, and sources within the presidency revealed that he would be in Europe, with a stop in Egypt.
El-Rufai’s absence from his son’s wedding has sparked criticism and condemnation, especially considering his son’s prominent position as the chairman of the House of Representatives committee on banking regulations.
