Austin Jay-Jay Okocha has offered his perspective on Victor Osimhen’s next move after a standout season with Galatasaray. The Nigerian forward, who joined on loan from Napoli, remains undecided about his future.
Osimhen’s form with the Turkish Super Lig champions has caught the attention of top European clubs including Manchester United, Chelsea, and Paris Saint-Germain, as well as Saudi side Al-Hilal.
The 25-year-old scored 37 goals and delivered eight assists in 41 appearances across all competitions. His contribution helped Galatasaray lift both the Turkish Super Lig and the Turkish Cup titles.
Okocha, who once played in Turkey with Fenerbahçe, recalled his time in the country while speaking to TRT Spor. He shared his thoughts on Osimhen’s success and the possibility of him staying in Istanbul.
“Osimhen had a great season at Galatasaray. Ultimately, he is happy there. Why shouldn’t he stay with the team? I love Turkey. He loves it too,” Okocha said in a quote published by En Haberler.
The former Super Eagles captain expressed appreciation for the warmth he experienced during his own stint in the Turkish league, emphasizing that players often face tough decisions regarding transfers.
Despite the strong interest from other clubs, Galatasaray are keen on securing Osimhen’s services on a permanent basis. His future remains open, with fans eagerly awaiting his final decision ahead of the 2025/2026 season.
Whether Osimhen chooses to remain in Turkey or move to a bigger European league, he obviously has a strong market demand following his performances.
