The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) says it’s gearing up to remove Nyesom Wike, Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, over alleged anti-party actions, NaijNaira can report.
A party committee is currently reviewing petitions against Wike, according to PDP Deputy National Publicity Secretary, Ibrahim Abdullahi, during a recent interview on Arise News.
The committee was set up to investigate claims that Wike’s actions have weakened party unity and strategy.
“He hasn’t come out to denounce his PDP membership,” Abdullahi said, “but he’s coming with some disadvantages… probably, the PDP would be better off if he had left.”
He added, “Anyone working against the PDP’s growth is better off outside the party.”
Abdullahi stressed that the PDP would not allow any individual to slow down its momentum.
“We’ve received petitions, and Wike is one of them,” he confirmed. “Once the committee concludes its work, there’ll be no stopping us. We’ll get rid of them.”
He emphasized that the party must stay united to reclaim its democratic promise.
If Wike no longer serves the PDP’s interest, he’s free to go, Abdullahi stated clearly.
The party’s disciplinary actions are expected to begin once the review wraps up.
