Olalekan Jacob Ponle, also known as Mr. Woodberry, has pleaded guilty to fraud charges in a US court.

Ponle was an accomplice of Nigerian internet fraudster Ramon Abbas, also known as Hushpuppi.

Ponle has agreed to forfeit $8 million in proceeds from the fraudulent scheme known as business email compromise (BEC).

As part of his plea bargain, he will also forfeit luxury cars, watches, and fashion accessories to the US government.

Ponle’s plea declaration was submitted on April 6, and he pleaded guilty to count one of the indictments.

He is required to pay back the $8 million he fraudulently received from seven companies.

Ponle and Hushpuppi were known for flaunting their lavish lifestyle on social media, particularly on Instagram.
