Alphonso Davies has recently been handed a one-month driving ban following an incident that occurred in Munich.
Last Thursday, the 24-year-old Bayern Munich fullback was stopped by police due to suspected driving under the influence.
A breathalyzer test revealed a positive result of 0.6 grams of alcohol per liter, surpassing the legal limit in Germany, which is 0.5 grams per liter.
As a result, Davies was fined, had his license suspended for one month, and received two demerit points.
Reports from German tabloid Bild indicated that he was driving a Lamborghini at the time of the incident.
Despite the situation, Davies started for Bayern in their 1-1 draw against Borussia Dortmund on Saturday.
Bayern manager Vincent Kompany acknowledged the incident but chose not to punish the team by sidelining Davies.
He confirmed that the player would face internal sanctions.
Davies has been a key figure for both Bayern Munich and the Canadian national team, scoring 16 goals and providing 17 assists in 56 caps for Canada.
He recently missed Canada’s CONCACAF Nations League quarterfinal series against Suriname due to “physical fatigue.”
Davies’ contract with Bayern expires at the end of the 2024-25 season, and he has been linked with several top European clubs.
