After Manchester United’s 2-1 win over Leicester in the FA Cup fourth round on Friday, manager Ruben Amorim appeared to order some of his players to undergo a full training session immediately.
This decision came after a disappointing 2-0 loss to Crystal Palace the previous weekend.
United welcomed back Ruud van Nistelrooy to Old Trafford as he managed Leicester, but the hosts produced a lackluster performance in the first half, with Leicester taking the lead through Bobby De Cordova-Reid just before halftime.
The introduction of Alejandro Garnacho sparked a turnaround in the second half, and Joshua Zirkzee soon equalized for United.
The game appeared set for extra time until Harry Maguire scored a dramatic late header in stoppage time.
The late goal secured the win but didn’t mask the subpar display.
After the match, Amorim took swift action, as a club social media post revealed players were put through a full training session, rather than the usual warm-down.
One of the players seen in the session was Rasmus Højlund, who had a disappointing performance, failing to register a shot and losing possession multiple times.
Despite the underwhelming performance, Maguire’s winner ensured United progressed to the FA Cup fifth round, where the draw will take place on Monday at 7 pm.
