A leaked phone call between former placeholder vice presidential candidate of the APC, Ibrahim Masari, and Governor Abdullahi Ganduje reveals Masari’s concerns about President-elect Bola Tinubu’s trustworthiness.
Masari advised Ganduje to have a one-on-one meeting with Tinubu after the latter held a meeting with presidential candidate Rabiu Kwankwaso without informing Ganduje.
Masari expressed his concern that Tinubu’s actions were sending the wrong signal and making it difficult for people to trust him.
Ganduje, who had received a security report that the meeting was part of a plan to scuttle the Kano state APC governorship case, expressed his frustration and betrayal.
Masari urged Ganduje to remain calm and not discuss the issue on the phone, promising to brief him in person.
The governor left Kano for Abuja to meet with Masari and hopefully, the president-elect.
When contacted, the Chief Press Secretary to the governor did not deny or authenticate the veracity of the phone conversation.
