The Benue State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has suspended two of its top party members, Chief Barnabas Gemade and Prof. Terhemba Shija.
The suspension was ratified at the State Expanded Meeting of the party held at its secretariat in Makurdi.
The Chairman of Benue APC, Austin Agada, accused the duo of engaging in anti-party activities and working against the success of the party during the recent general elections.
Agada also alleged that Gemade refused to follow the party’s constitution and lost his ward and local council of Konshisha.
Shija was accused of frustrating the party and working in connivance with the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
The suspended members are to face the party’s disciplinary committee.
Additionally, three ward executive council members in Konshisha Local Council were also suspended for anti-party activities.
Gemade and Shija had previously instituted legal action against the APC governorship primaries that produced Fr. Hyacinth Alia as the candidate, but the Supreme Court ruled in favor of Alia.
