Atiku Abubakar, the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has urged the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to not employ transporters from the Lagos State Parks Management Committee, an organization led by Musiliu Akinsanya well-known asMC Oluomo, to distribute sensitive election materials and transport election officials on Election Day.

Phrank Shaibu, Atiku’s Special Assistant on Communications, made this statement in a release.

INEC had recently reached out to both the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) and Road Transport Employees Association of Nigeria(RTEAN) on Tuesday, agreeing to utilize their services for transportation purposes during Election Day.

However, Shaibu pointed out that such unions are banned in Lagos State under Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu because their national leadership suspended MC Oluomo’s membership.

He also demanded INEC deny MC Oluomo from any access to ballot papers and stated that INEC should approach its national leadership for NURTW’s services or take aid from any logistic company for said purpose.
