His mother is a member of the Christ Apostolic Church (CAC). In 1972, he became “born again” at an evangelical crusade in Sapele, Nigeria that marked the start of his journey for spiritual knowledge.
He went on to enroll at the All Nations For Christ Bible Institute and later the Nigerian Baptist Seminary in Ogbomosho, Nigeria.
In 1979, he traveled to the United States to study theology further at Morris Cerullo’s School of Ministry (El Cortez), San Diego, California.
It was here that Ayo experienced a vision where he heard voices encouraging him to take God’s word to the world; this spark ignited his founding of Word of Life Bible Church (WLBC) in November 1987 and brought forth his television program Hour of Deliverance two years prior.
Ayo attributes his accomplishments in life and success in ministry as works of guidance from mentors such as Archbishop Benson Idahosa, Dr. Morris Cerullo, Robert W. Schamback, and Evangelist Tommy L. Osborn among others.
