Barcelona and veteran player Sergi Roberto have reportedly agreed to terms for the Spaniard to stay at Camp Nou for another year.
According to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, Roberto will soon sign an extension with the Catalan side and already have a verbal agreement on the deal.
With over 16 years of service with Barca, Roberto has garnered a great amount of respect when it comes to versatility as he can play various roles in the midfield and on defense, being mostly deployed as a right back.
Injuries have derailed his career in recent years but this season he has managed 18 appearances across all competitions while chipping in with two goals and two assists.
As his current contract set to expire at the end of the 2020-2021 campaign, it was widely speculated that Barcelona were looking to tie him up to a new deal.
It is now reported that they are having him sign a one-year contract while having the option to further extend it by twelve months, which was accepted by both parties.
Documentation will be presented soon and an official announcement is expected shortly after.
