Thomas Tuchel, the new manager of Bayern Munich, has expressed his desire to bring Chelsea’s assistant manager, Anthony Barry, to Bavaria.
Tuchel and Barry formed a strong working relationship during their time together at Chelsea, and talks are currently ongoing to reunite the two in Munich.
Tuchel’s long-time assistants, Arno Michels and Zsolt Low, have already been assembled for the Munich job, but it remains to be seen if Barry will leave his role at Chelsea for the one in Munich.
Tuchel expressed surprise at the timing of his appointment and thanked his coaching staff and their families for their flexibility.
He cited the size of the challenge as the deciding factor in taking the job.
Barry joined Chelsea during Frank Lampard’s tenure and played a pivotal role in the team’s Champions League victory.
