Frank Lampard, the former Chelsea player and manager, has accepted an offer to manage the club until the end of the season.
Lampard returns to Chelsea after the sacking of Graham Potter, and will take his first training session at Cobham.
The 44-year-old has been given an opportunity to lead the team again, two years after he was dismissed from the role.
Lampard left his previous Premier League post in January 2021 and was also sacked by Everton in January of this year.
He will be joined by fellow Blues legend Ashley Cole and Joe Edwards, who worked with him during his previous spell at the club.
Lampard’s first game back will be against Wolves on Saturday, followed by a Champions League quarter-final clash with Real Madrid next Wednesday.
Chelsea is currently 11th in the Premier League table and has invested £600 million ($748m) in the squad across the last two transfer windows.
