President Muhammadu Buhari has congratulated Dr Doyin Abiola on her 80th birthday, commending her skills and brilliance that made history when she became the first female newspaper Editor in Nigeria.
According to Presidential Statement released by his special aide, Femi Adesina, President Buhari expressed his joy in celebrating this milestone with the distinguished media personality who has dedicated many years of experience to bringing depth and scope into publishing.
He lauded Dr Abiola for her passion for research and learning which greatly influenced the Nigerian media.
The President also admired Dr Abiola’s accomplishments as a columnist with Daily Sketch in the 1960s, a Features Writer at Daily Times and Group Features Editor, as well as being a pioneer daily Editor of National Concord.
He concluded by wishing her good health and blessings on her family.
