Nigerian superstar Wizkid will take center stage at the CANEX 2025 Mega Concert in Algeria on September 5, promising one of the most anticipated music nights of the year – www.naijnaira.com reports.
The concert is part of the Creative Africa Nexus (CANEX) exhibition, an event combining Africa’s defense and security innovations with artistic showcases, according to PunchNG.
Organisers describe Wizkid’s role as central to the show, saying his “Afrobeat grooves and unmatched stage presence will bring an energy that unites audiences.”
The festival lineup includes celebrated artists from Algeria, South Africa, Kenya, Congo, and more, making it a true continental music gathering.
Fans online claim Wizkid may earn as much as ₦6.4 billion ($4.2 million) for the single performance, though CANEX has not officially confirmed the figure.
Speculation gained traction after multiple social media accounts, including @tooxclusive_com and @entdaily001 on Instagram, repeated the same fee estimate.
On X (formerly Twitter), fan pages like @Jahboy and @ChaftsAfrica also insisted the singer would collect $4.2 million for headlining the concert.
This wouldn’t be Wizkid’s first massive paycheck, as his 2018 performance at a royal wedding in Jodhpur, India, reportedly fetched him around $681,200.
In August 2025, he was paid about $3 million for Denmark’s AIA Sound Festival, further proving his global draw and premium booking fees.
Earlier this year, his sold-out Madison Square Garden show in New York raked in an estimated $1 million in ticket revenue alone.
Shows at London’s O2 Arena and Atlanta’s State Farm Arena also added nearly $900,000 each to his tour earnings.
