Chelsea assistant coach Anthony Barry has been asked to stay away from the club’s training ground as negotiations continue for him to join Thomas Tuchel at Bayern Munich.
Tuchel and Barry worked closely together during Tuchel’s previous stint at Chelsea, and now Tuchel has moved quickly to try and persuade Barry to join him in the Bundesliga.
Barry has submitted a ‘transfer request’ to Chelsea and is keen on the idea of moving abroad.
However, Bayern’s compensation offer falls short of Chelsea’s valuation of the coach, so negotiations are ongoing.
Chelsea gave Barry permission to take up a dual role with Portugal earlier this month and he is highly rated at the club.
The Blues could come face-to-face with Tuchel and Barry in the Champions League if both teams progress past the quarter-finals.
