Carney Chukwuemeka has landed in Germany to finalize his switch from Chelsea to Borussia Dortmund, with a medical scheduled to complete the permanent deal – www.naijnaira.com reports.
According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, the 21-year-old midfielder will be joined by teammate Aaron Anselmino, who is heading to Dortmund on loan for the season.
Chukwuemeka shone during his loan spell in the Bundesliga last term, convincing Dortmund to make the move permanent in a transfer package worth around €25 million.
The agreement also includes performance-related add-ons as well as a healthy sell-on percentage for Chelsea in any future transfer.
Chelsea continue their summer clear-out, having already generated over £270 million in player sales to balance the books under UEFA financial rules.
Dortmund strengthen their midfield with the signing, especially after losing Jamie Bynoe-Gittens to Chelsea in a separate €65 million deal.
“Chukwuemeka has all the tools to succeed here – technical quality, composure, and versatility,” a Dortmund insider said following his arrival.
The England U19 European Championship winner of 2022 adds international pedigree and depth to Dortmund’s squad, while still eligible to represent Austria, England, or Nigeria at senior level.
