Yesterday, a Federal High Court in Lagos granted suspended Central Bank of Nigeria Governor, Godwin Emefiele, permission to serve the Director General of the Department of State Services (DSS) with the court’s order admitting him to bail.
The court had previously granted Emefiele bail and ordered his remand in the custody of the Nigerian Correctional Service after he was charged with illegal possession of firearms and ammunition.
Emefiele pleaded not guilty to the charges, but was rearrested by the DSS.
In his application, Emefiele requested permission to serve the DSS Director General with the court’s ruling through the office and person of the Director General.
The court granted his request, allowing for the publication of the ruling in three national daily newspapers as a means of serving the DSS Director General.
