Cristiano Ronaldo is reportedly in talks with David Beckham over a potential transfer to Inter Miami – where he could play alongside Lionel Messi.
After an explosive interview given to TalkTV host, Piers Morgan, the 37-year-old has burnt his bridges at Old Trafford following his hitting out at Manchester United including Erik ten Hag, the Glazers and Gary Neville.
And with the January transfer window fast approaching, it means that a move away looks increasingly likely while scouring Europe has proved fruitless already – with clubs such as Chelsea, Bayern Munich and Atletico Madrid all turning down the chance to sign the United outcast.
A move to the United States is on the cards, though, where according to The Sun, Inter Miami are taking an interest. The MLS outfit is owned by Beckham, who has already spoken to Ronaldo’s representatives over a potential transfer.
It follows reports that the England legend also has plans to lure Messi to the club in what could be the biggest blockbuster double deal of all time.
Having Messi and Ronaldo on the same side is something that would have been unthinkable just a few years back when the two were tussling it out with Barcelona and Real Madrid.
Whether a deal can be complete in the near future seems unlikely now, though, with the World Cup set to get underway this week. All eyes will be on Ronaldo as Portugal look to go far in the tournament down in Qatar.
It is further reported that Inter Miami coach Phil Neville would have no problems working with the Portugal international – despite the comments made about his brother Gary.
