He then played for Real Sociedad in Spain for three seasons, helping them win the Spanish Cup. However, his ACL injury prompted him to call time on his career.

In the video, Silva expressed his gratitude to football and thanked his colleagues and fans for making him feel at home.

Silva’s career highlights were showcased in the video, including his goals and assists for City, as well as his achievements with the Spanish national team.

City had previously announced plans for a statue to honor Silva outside the Etihad.

Silva concludes his career with 869 appearances, 156 goals, and 226 assists, winning 18 trophies in total.
