Arsenal host Manchester City in a highly-anticipated Premier League match at the Emirates Stadium on Wednesday night, with the Gunners three points ahead of Pep Guardiola’s side.
But Manchester City could have a man down for the game, with star striker Erling Haaland picking up an injury in their 3-1 win against Aston Villa on Sunday.
When asked about Haaland’s current fitness status, Guardiola said: “We train this afternoon. Right now I don’t know. Yesterday was about recovery from Aston Villa. That’s all.”
However, City have teased that Haaland may play as they posted a picture of him training with other players, including Jack Grealish and Riyad Mahrez.
Still, Guardiola admitted he didn’t know the full extent of the injury suffered by Haaland after the victory over Villa and said: “If he’s not ready, we’ll play another one. Hopefully, he’s ready like everyone but we’ll see.”
