A group of concerned Nigerians have called for the investigation and prosecution of four individuals for hate speech and incitement to violence against the Igbo people and supporters of Peter Obi.
The individuals named are MC Oluomo, Femi Fani-Kayode, Reno Omokri, Sam Omatseye, and Bayo Onanuga.
MC Oluomo was seen in a viral video telling those who did not intend to vote for the All Progressives Party (APC) in the presidential election to stay away from their polling units.
Similarly, a group of APC supporters were seen warning Nigerians not to attend their polling units if they did not intend to vote for APC.
In another video, Igbo people were prevented from voting in a particular polling unit in Lagos, while some Nigerians reported being disenfranchised and attacked in Lagos because they looked like Igbo.
Femi Fani-Kayode has consistently propagated hate and incitement to violence against the Igbo people and supporters of Peter Obi.
He has called on the South West to defend Yoruba land against the Igbos, whom he refers to as invaders or strangers.
One of his inciteful statements was published on his Twitter account on March 20, 2023, in which he said that the Ibo in Lagos are no longer welcome and should go home.
