Tragedy struck on Wednesday morning, as an Okada rider and his passenger were killed in a collision with a truck at the Bible College area of the Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway.
According to the Federal Road Safety Corps’ Sector Commander in Ogun, Ahmed Umar, excessive speeding and route violation were identified as the primary causes of the accident which involved four people, one commercial motorcycle without a registration number, and one Daf truck marked KTG 941 YG.
The casualties’ bodies have been transported to the morgue of Ifo General Hospital.
In light of this tragic occurrence, Umar urged motorists and okada riders to exercise caution while traversing on highways by avoiding excessive speed and driving against traffic flow in order to avert fatalities.
