The Federal Government of Nigeria has announced that Wednesday, September 27, 2023, will be a public holiday in celebration of Eid-ul-Maulid, which marks the birth of the Holy Prophet Muhammad.

The declaration was made by the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, on behalf of the government in Abuja.

Tunji-Ojo extended his congratulations to all Muslim faithful, both in Nigeria and abroad, and called on Nigerians to embrace love, patience, tolerance, and perseverance.

He also urged citizens, especially the youth, to join hands with President Bola Tinubu’s administration in building a progressive and admirable nation.

The Minister wished all Muslim faithful a joyful celebration.
