Former Chelsea defender Kenneth Omeruo discusses retirement from football

Former Chelsea defender Kenneth Omeruo recently discussed his retirement plans from football.

Omeruo, who played a crucial role in Nigeria’s recent victory over Sierra Leone, expressed his ambitious goal of playing in a UEFA Champions League match before retiring.

Despite currently competing in the Segunda División, the Nigerian remains hopeful that his club, CD Leganés, will eventually make it to the Champions League during his career.

Omeruo emphasized his determination to continue playing football until he achieves his dream of participating in the prestigious European tournament.

He stated, “I want to play in the [UEFA] Champions League. That’s what I have said. And it will happen.”

Omeruo’s move from Chelsea to CD Leganés for a fee of €5.00m shows his potential for a successful future and the possibility of joining an even bigger club.
