In a recent podcast interview, Don Jazzy, the executive of Mavin Records, opened up about why he did not sign Wizkid and Davido to his former record label, Mo’ Hits.
He revealed that he could not sign Wizkid because Banky W’s EME label got to him first.
Don Jazzy expressed that it would have been amazing if he had the opportunity to sign Wizkid.
He also mentioned other talented artists that he wishes he could have signed, including Davido, Falz, Simi, and Teni.
Don Jazzy explained that he had the chance to sign Davido but believed that he would be successful on his own.
He acknowledged that it is not possible to sign every artist and that there is a lot of work involved in nurturing and promoting new talent.
