Google Maps' Drone-Like 'Immersive View' Is Now Live in Five Cities

Google Maps have added a brand new immersive feature to five cities all across the world: London, Los Angeles, San Francisco, New York and Tokyo.

The ‘Immersive View’ will provide 3D renderings of cities at different times of the day and weather conditions for users who want to get a sense of what it might be like to actually be there.

This new feature is part of Google’s heavy investment into AI and computer vision tools, along with other features that are helping keep its mapping tools competitive in today’s market.

To make navigation easier, Google will also be offering ‘Glanceable Directions’, allowing users to check their route and ETA without having to stay in navigation mode.

Furthermore, EV drivers can now access very fast charging stations at the touch of a button thanks to Google Built-in.

More cities are expected to gain access in the future as well as more airports, train stations and malls too.
