Google’s latest Pixel 10 lineup introduces the Qi2 wireless charging system along with magnet-based PixelSnap accessories, but it comes with a surprising trade-off — www.naijnaira.com reports.
According to Digital Trends, the upgrade means Google quietly removed the Battery Share feature that first appeared on the Pixel 5.
For years, users could top up earbuds, smartwatches, or even other phones by placing them on the back of a Pixel device.
That convenience is gone with the Pixel 10 Pro and 10 Pro XL because the new magnet layout interferes with reverse wireless charging.
Google explained, “The array of magnets creates a strong connection with the charger but presents a physical limitation for reverse wireless charging.”
The company added that it is “constantly exploring future innovations to improve the Pixel experience,” leaving room for the feature to return later.
Support pages confirm that every flagship Pixel from the Pixel 5 onwards supports Battery Share, except the Pixel 10, Pixel Fold models, and Pixel A-series phones.
Meanwhile, Samsung continues to offer reverse charging on its latest Galaxy Z Fold 7, which raises questions about whether Pixel users will miss the feature long term.
