Sunday Oliseh, who is a member of the FIFA Technical Study Group in Qatar, says his wife, Hafidah, a Belgian citizen of Moroccan descent, predicted that Morocco will beat Portugal to reach the semi-finals of the ongoing 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

It’s the first time an African side will reach the last four of the global football showpiece, after striker Youssef En-Nesyri scored the winning goal in the first half, leaping highest to beat goalkeeper Diogo Costa to the ball and heading in to spark pandemonium at Al Thumama Stadium.

While celebrating Morocco’s feat, the former Super Eagles captain, who was inside the Al Thumama Stadium, said his wife “jokingly” predicted victory for the North Africans.

“After 48 years of trying Morocco has made Africa into world superpower status in football. Ecstatic & privileged to be here at Al Thumama Stadium to witness Morocco do it.

“Wifey jokingly predicted this when she came to Qatar! Guess our wives are always right after all,” Oliseh tweeted via his official handle after the game.

Oliseh married his beautiful wife Hafidah shortly after the 1994 FIFA World Cup, where he was part of the squad that reached the round of 16 in the United States.

The couple is blessed with two children, a son and daughter.
