Following Tottenham’s surprise win against Manchester City on Sunday, Antonio Conte sent a surprise phone call to Harry Kane.
Despite the Italian being absent from the match due to medical treatment, his right-hand man Cristian Stellini was able to take charge of Spurs at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium with Conte watching from Italy and seeing Kane break Jimmy Greaves’ goalscoring record of 266 was something he was proud of.
After the game, Kane spoke of it being a “magical moment” with all those present staying after in celebration.
It seemed as if one voice wanted to add his congratulations too – Conte himself.
In a video captured by Spurs, Kane can be seen receiving a phone from Son Heung-min with Conte on the other end, telling Kane that he made him proud amongst other praises before ending with “we’ll see you on Wednesday”.
Son then began chanting for two days off which could be seen as a reward for their tireless shift in securing the victory – something which could happen depending on how his recovery goes ahead of Leicester next Saturday.
