He stated that he would send his lawyers to negotiate the fee and affirmed that he would only work with those who could afford it.
Some Nigerians reacted to the news, with some suggesting that they would rather pay a local artist a smaller fee than pay such a high amount for a feature.
Others pointed out that local artists in the US charge even more than $200,000 for a feature.
It is believed that Davido was referring specifically to foreign artists in his statement.
