INEC has launched precautionary measures to protect the Bimodal Voter Registration Systems, BVAS from getting snatched away by hoodlums on election day.

Security expert in charge of ICT Information and Communication Technology Lawrence Bayode revealed that once a BVAS is stolen, a system is already set up to deactivate it by alerting the Presiding Officer in the polling unit.

Additionally, if any fraudsters try to manipulate data on the stolen device anywhere else, it will be immediately deactivated from the back end.

Thus, INEC’s security protocols are designed to ensure the safety and accuracy of casting votes during elections.
