The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has announced a two-day nationwide protest scheduled for February 27 and 28, 2024. The declaration was made by Joe Ajaero, the leader of NLC, during a press conference held at Labour House in Abuja.

The purpose of the protest is to draw attention to the current hardships faced by Nigerians since the removal of fuel subsidy on May 29, 2023.

Ajaero expressed the concerns of the NLC regarding the government’s failure to address the needs of its citizens under the leadership of President Bola Tinubu.

The removal of fuel subsidy has resulted in increased fuel prices, which in turn has had a significant impact on the cost of living for many Nigerians.

This protest aims to press the government to take immediate action in addressing these challenges and provide relief to the citizens.

The NLC, as the umbrella body for Nigerian workers, has historically played a crucial role in advocating for the rights and welfare of workers in the country.
