Labour Party Suspends Kenneth Okonkwo and Other State Officials

The Labour Party National Executive Council has suspended 12 members, including Kenneth Okonkwo, for alleged anti-party activities and unruly behavior against the party leadership.

The suspension was announced in a communique issued at the end of the council’s meeting in Bauchi State, Nigeria.

The council also suspended all National Working Committee members and state chairmen and secretaries who attended an illegal NEC meeting convened by Barr Julius Abure on April 18, 2023, in Asaba, Delta state.

The party constituted a five-man disciplinary committee to investigate the suspended members and recommended them for disciplinary actions.

The committee will be chaired by Prince Favour Reuben with Hussaine Saraki as the Secretary.
