Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue State has rejected the results of the February 25th Benue North West senatorial election and is taking legal action.

Ortom, who ran on the Peoples Democratic Party ticket, lost to All Progressives Congress candidate Titus Zam who garnered 143,151 votes and Labour Party candidate Mark Gbillah with 51,950 votes.

Ortom noted that he had 106,882 votes but believed they were illegally taken by electronic and other clinical rigging methods.

He declared that his party was not over yet and had contacted lawyers to examine the results prior to approaching the tribunal. He added that he is confident that all stolen mandates will be recovered.
