The National Assembly Elections Petition Tribunal in Lagos has made a decision regarding the House of Representatives member for Ojo Federal Constituency in Lagos State.
The tribunal nullified the return of Seyi Sowunmi, the candidate of the Labour Party (LP), and declared Lanre Ogunyemi, the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), as the duly elected candidate.
Ogunyemi had challenged the declaration of Sowunmi by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on the grounds that Sowunmi was not qualified to contest the elections under the Labour Party.
The tribunal agreed with Ogunyemi and declared his votes wasted, declaring Ogunyemi as the winner of Ojo Federal Constituency.
