Hon. Obinna Aguocha, a representative from Isiukwuato and Umunnochi Local Government Area of Abia State, has called for the unconditional release of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu as a solution to the security challenges in the Southeast region of Nigeria.

During an interactive session with security agencies in Abuja, Hon. Aguocha emphasized the need to address the root causes of insecurity and work towards lasting solutions.

He stated that the release of Kanu, who is currently in detention, would contribute to peace and security in the region.

Hon. Aguocha also highlighted the importance of collaboration between different stakeholders, including law enforcement agencies, community leaders, policymakers, scholars, and citizens, in combating insecurity.

The Abia State Commissioner of Police, Kenechukwu Onwumelie, provided an update on the security situation in the state and discussed the way forward.

Hon. Amobi Ogah, the sponsor of the motion, criticized the police for focusing on collecting money at multiple checkpoints instead of addressing the issue of kidnapping and other criminal activities.
