Tyler Morton will not be traveling with Liverpool for their Champions League match against Girona on Tuesday after picking up a knock in training on Monday.
The injury is described as a minor complaint, and Morton’s absence leaves him out of contention for the trip, as Liverpool look to extend their perfect record in the revamped 32-team European competition.
Federico Chiesa also misses out on the squad due to illness.
The Italy international had played for the Under-21s in their 4-3 defeat to FC Nordsjaelland, but his Champions League inclusion is now ruled out.
Meanwhile, Diogo Jota, who has been sidelined for nearly two months due to an injury from a challenge by Chelsea‘s Tosin Adarabioyo, trained fully with the team and could feature in the upcoming match.
Goalkeeper Alisson Becker, who has been recovering from a hamstring tear since October, also participated in training and could make his return against Girona, having missed 11 games so far.
Liverpool manager Arne Slot is expected to provide an update on his recovery during a press conference later.
Liverpool will also be without Conor Bradley and Ibrahima Konate, who are both recovering from injuries sustained in the 2-0 win over Real Madrid.
Bradley is dealing with a hamstring issue, and Konate has a knee injury.
Kostas Tsimikas remains sidelined with an ankle complaint.
