Liverpool’s manager, Jurgen Klopp, commended his team’s exceptional performance in their 7-0 victory over Manchester United.
While he acknowledged the incredible win, Klopp admitted that he still wasn’t entirely satisfied with the outcome.
The match saw braces from Mohamed Salah, Darwin Nunez and Cody Gakpo, before Roberto Firmino rounded it off with a final goal; however, Klopp referred to such a dominant scoreline as a “freak result”.
He reminded his players to stay focused on the game plan, especially as they had understandably become more caught up in the excitement of the occasion as time wore on.
Klopp stated that he loved the performance and was pleased with the three points his team earned from this victory; however, he wasn’t carrying around any excess baggage from the huge win.
Despite all this, Klopp expressed pride in his players’ ability to remain active and aggressive throughout every moment of play – qualities which made it difficult for Manchester United to keep up with Liverpool.
The manager tasked his team to maintain their focus going forward since moments like when Stefan scored demonstrated a lack of discipline costing them some constructive plays.
While commenting on inconsistency and varying results in future matches ahead, Klopp noted the importance of dominance for each game by playing patterns that count as important factors needed to clinch wins consistently.
