Luka Modric signs one-year contract extension with Real Madrid

Real Madrid fans can rejoice as Luka Modrić, the captain of Croatia’s national team, has signed a one-year contract extension with the Spanish club.

The midfielder will now be linked to Real Madrid until June 30, 2024.

Modrić joined the club in 2012 and has since played 488 games, winning an impressive 23 titles, including 5 Champions League trophies.

He has also won several individual awards, such as the Ballon d’Or in 2018 and The Best FIFA Player Award in the same year.

Modrić’s success extends beyond club football, as he was the Golden Ball winner at the 2018 World Cup in Russia and won the Bronze Ball at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

This news is likely to please Croatia fans, as Modrić is expected to announce his continuation with the national team for one more year, taking him through the 2024 Euros as his final tournament.
