Lyon have reportedly set their asking price for Liverpool’s top target, Rayan Cherki, as the French club looks to sell players to address its financial crisis.

The Ligue 1 side is demanding £25-29 million for the talented winger, a significant increase from the £12.5 million they sought in the summer when Fulham showed interest.

Liverpool is keen on Cherki as a potential replacement for Mohamed Salah, whose contract expires in June 2025.

With Salah‘s future uncertain, Liverpool is preparing for his potential departure and Cherki has emerged as a top target.

However, the Reds will face stiff competition from Paris Saint-Germain and Bayer Leverkusen, both reportedly interested in the 19-year-old.

Cherki has impressed in his 11 appearances this season, earning a call-up to France’s U21 squad.

His current contract with Lyon runs until 2026, but it could be extended by a year if he remains at the club beyond next summer.

Lyon is in a financial bind, with debts amounting to £422 million and the possibility of relegation unless their situation improves.

This has led to claims that all Lyon players are up for sale as the club looks to reduce its debt.
