Lionel Messi and his wife, Antonela Roccuzzo, had a special ritual during the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar that may have contributed to Messi’s eventual victory with Argentina.
The PSG forward opened up about it in an interview with Urbana Play 104.3 FM’s “Perros de la Calle” radio program, noting that the two would talk before bed at night but they wouldn’t talk about one thing – who they wanted to win the World Cup.
“Obviously, each one wanted their country to be champion first and as they were left out they went with Argentina because they wanted me to be world champion,” said Messi.
He believes that all of the energy from this special ritual helped make it happen for him, finally winning the trophy he had been chasing his whole career.
