The potential return of Lionel Messi to Barcelona has been a hot topic in the football world, but La Liga president Javier Tebas has outlined three major conditions that must be met before it can happen.
Tebas stated that Barcelona must reduce their wage bill, offload several players, and determine what salary Messi would be willing to accept.
He also acknowledged that the situation is complicated and will require careful consideration.
Tebas told RMC Sport, “If you ask me the question today, Messi’s return to Barça is very complicated.
“We have to see how that will evolve but several conditions would have to be met.
“Barça players would have to leave, there would have to be a reduction in wages. And then you have to know what salary Messi would have at Barça.”
While Messi’s current deal with Paris Saint-Germain will expire this summer, reports suggest that Barcelona could be a potential destination for the 35-year-old.
However, it remains to be seen whether the club can meet the conditions set forth by La Liga and bring the World Cup winner back to Camp Nou.
