Arsenal have stopped their attempt to sign midfielder Moises Caicedo from Brighton & Hove Albion after the last bid for the Ecuadorian was denied by the Premier League club.
The Gunners had offered up to £70m for his services, but Brighton have been adamant in their stance of not selling him this window.
Caicedo had publicly expressed his wish to move to North London and while that prompted sentiments to change at the Amex, it seemed unyielding until Arsenal gave up on their pursuit.
With only hours remaining before the transfer window closes and no hope of an agreement being struck, Arsenal have shelved their interest today and will now focus on acquiring Jorginho from Chelsea instead.
