The National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) has recently launched two portals to facilitate the progression of Higher National Diploma (HND) holders in Nigeria.
The first portal is designed for HND holders who wish to acquire a Bachelor’s degree through online top-up programs with foreign accredited universities.
This allows HND holders to further their education and obtain higher degrees without the need for a one-year Postgraduate Diploma (PGD) or other additional qualifications.
The second portal is an admission portal that only displays accredited programs of all polytechnics, ensuring that HND graduates are admitted into recognized and accredited programs.
This also helps the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) identify candidates who are eligible for the mandatory national service.
These portals aim to address the challenges faced by HND holders in terms of further education and national service mobilization, providing them with more opportunities for career advancement and recognition.
