The National Examinations Council (NECO) has officially published the 2025 results for entrance into federal unity schools across the country, www.naijnaira.com reports.
Minister of State for Education, Suwaiba Ahmad, confirmed the release during a briefing held on Wednesday.
She explained that the results cover the National Common Entrance Examination (NCEE) for students seeking JSS1 placement in Federal Unity Colleges.
Ahmad also confirmed the outcome of entrance tests into the Federal Government Academy in Suleja, Niger State, was now available.
Out of 64,578 students who registered for the exam, 61,290 actually took part, while 3,288 were recorded absent.
NECO Registrar, Ibrahim Wushishi, joined the minister during the announcement, revealing that 13 students earned the top score of 202, just shy of the 210 cutoff.
He also noted that 27 students received the lowest possible score of one.
In a troubling update, Ahmad disclosed that 52 students—two from Lagos and 50 from Rivers State—were caught for exam malpractice this year.
Admissions will proceed under the current structure: 60% based on merit, 30% on state equality, and 10% for special considerations.
“The government remains committed to better infrastructure, improved meals, and teacher quality across our schools,” Ahmad stated.
