Newcastle United are contemplating a last-ditch move for Portuguese striker Vitinha, according to reports.
The 22-year-old has impressed at SC Braga this season, scoring 13 goals and providing 5 assists in 27 appearances.
Interest in the player has grown significantly over recent weeks with several top sides monitoring his progress closely.
Newcastle have been scouting Vitinha since 2017 when he graduated from the SC Braga academy, and the Magpies hope to secure his signature before the transfer window closes.
The player reportedly has a €30 million release clause in his contract which Newcastle would need to trigger in order to acquire him.
However, with Alexander Isak, Callum Wilson and Anthony Gordon already on their books it is unlikely that Newcastle will make a permanent move for Vitinha.
For now, it remains unclear whether or not they will decide to invest €30 million in signing him this winter window.
