Tanko Beji reportedly slumped during the One-million Man Street Walk/Rally organised for the party’s candidates in Minna, yesterday.
The Niger State chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party was, thereafter, rushed for urgent medical attention, following which he regained consciousness.
A number of youth support groups had organised the event to drum support for the state’s PDP hopefuls ahead of the 2023 general elections.
The about two-kilometer walk was to have led participants from the popular Mobile Roundabout to Bahago Roundabout.
Beji, however, couldn’t complete the stretch.
A source said the two-term PDP chairman had not been engaging in such exercise; hence his inability to withstand its demands. The source, however, expressed gratitude to God that Beji survived.
The incident was said to have left participants at the rally demoralised.
The PDP deputy governorship candidate Mr. Samuel Gomna, spoke on behalf of the party and its candidates.
